BBA Math News & Announcements
Preamble
The goals of the organization shall be (a) to serve as advocate for the educational and professional needs of its member, (b) to serve as advocate for the educational and developmental needs of African-American children, and (c) to provide educational solutions and policy alternatives to the educational issues which affect the participation and success of African-American children in mathematics learning. In executing these goals, The Benjamin Banneker Association shall promote and provide opportunities for networking among individuals, institutions, groups, and agencies operating for the betterment of the educational systems of these United States and Territories, and promote and provide opportunities for African-American students to participate and excel in mathematics learning.

Dear BBA Family,
The demonstrations, violence and murders which have taken place over the last
24 hours in Charlottesville, VA are a heartbreaking reminder of how far we still
must go in the fight for equality and respect in our country. I am personally
saddened by the actions of the white supremacists leading these protests, and find
it shameful that any political or public figure would refuse to recognize their
actions as terroristic.
