DESCRIPTION:The National STEM Education Research and Practice Summit will be held at Purdue University on October 16-17\, 2017. \nNationally there has been incredible progress in the areas of STEM and STEM education over the past decade. This event is designed as a forum for STEM education researchers\, as well as those enacting best practice in STEM education K-20 to come together and share their collective knowledge and experiences. \nThe Summit will start on the evening of October 16th at 6 p.m. with an opening reception. The second day of the conference (October 17) will begin with sessions starting at 9 a.m. and running through the day with an approximate end time of 4 p.m. EST. \nThere are three strands in the National STEM Education Research and Practice Summit. \nStrand 1: STEM Education Research \nStrand 2: Best-practice in K-20 STEM Education \nStrand 3: Resources for STEM Education \nThe schedule of presenters and sessions is available online now. DESCRIPTION:NCTM members will be electing four new Board members to the NCTM Board of Directors this fall. The NCTM Board of Directors sets the direction\, establishes policy\, and oversees the activities of the Council. The newly elected board members will begin their terms at the conclusion of the NCTM 2018 Annual Meeting and Exposition in April 2018. \nIndividual NCTM members will be asked to vote for one candidate for Director from the Western Region and three candidates At-Large. The election will be conducted exclusively online. If your individual membership is current as of August 31\, 2017\, you will be eligible to vote in this year’s election\, which opens September 29\, 2017.
